Cycling Survey

Cycling Survey

Newark & Sherwood Cycling Advisory Group

We are very please to be involved with this group whos' members are people of all ages, who enjoy anything to do with bicycles.  We got together from many areas of Newark & Sherwood to talk about how to improve the District’s poor facilities for leisure and commuting cyclists and friends and families, especially young people.  Members of our group include people who own and work in cycling businesses; are members of cycle clubs who ride for health and leisure and people who use bikes to commute for work, to shops or school and those who ride just for the fun of it.   There is an obvious need for better designed and much safer cycling paths, trails and roads in the towns and villages and all around this beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside. We have several Parish, Town and District Councillors as members, who are reaching out across the District to get a big picture of the barriers to cycling.  We aim to get plans agreed and funded to make Newark & Sherwood a cycling hub for safer, greener, active travel.
